Protecting My Mental Health on Social Media

Being a HSP (highly sensitive person), I am deeply affected as a human being by tragic events that happen all over the world.Being a creator- being online is my job. I can’t delete the app and disappear.. although, sometimes that sounds like a great idea. Here are some things I am currently doing to protect my mental health in regards to the current events and just everyday life on social media. * unfollow any accounts that make you feel unhappy, uncomfortable or less than yourself. I do not follow any media accounts or any news accounts. * personally, I don’t watch the news and anytime I have- I felt uncomfortable. If you do- limit your time. I promise it’ll make you feel 10x better. * don’t scroll the home feed. ok hear me out! this is what I do: *I come online*I post*I engage with my fav creators accounts via search and I leave the app. *I don’t like scrolling the home feed because that’s often where I come across heavy news or something that makes me uncomfortable. *Clean out your accounts that you’re following- daily! * Turn off your Instagram notifications. This will prevent you from reopening the app multiple times a day. * Move the app into a folder that’s not easily accessible on your Home Screen. For me, I have to swipe alllll the way to the last page and then open two folders to get to my Instagram. THIS HAS BEEN THE MOST EFFECTIVE 🤍Did I miss anything? What do you do to protect your mental health on social media?
