These are super healthy! I played around with the recipe today. The girls wanted a donut and I was not going to have them jumping off the walls at 11am so here we areā¦ with a recipe for a healthier donut (and muffins).
This recipe made 6 donuts & 5 muffins. Alternatively you can make all donuts and all muffins etc..
Ingredients:
1 cup rolled oats
3/4 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup unsweetened apple sauce
1/2 cup milk of your choice
1/4 cup coconut oil or olive oil
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup organic honey or maple syrup
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
optional: raisins, cranberries, chocolate chips
Steps:
mix it all together and add into muffin or donut tray. Make sure the tray is properly greased with oil or butter first. Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes. These will freeze well too!!!
