Gurpreet Virdi-Bains is a Toronto-based journalist, children’s author, wife, and mom who writes about the things most of us think but rarely say out loud.
She covers parenting, culture, identity, and emotional well-being — the unspoken, the uncomfortable, and the deeply human. Her work has appeared in Today’s Parent, the Toronto Star, The Kit, and CBC.
Gurpreet also works in social work, sitting with families in their hardest moments — and that experience lives in everything she writes. She’s drawn to the stories that don’t get told enough: how culture shapes who we become, what it really feels like to raise kids while still figuring yourself out, and the messy, beautiful tension of modern motherhood and identity.
She is based in the Toronto area and is available for assignments, essays, and pitches.
